Welcome to my fundraising page!

First and foremost, I'd like to thank you for visiting my page in the interest of learning more about my fundraising and volunteering efforts.

During Thanksgiving week in November 2012, I traveled to Nicaragua for my first medical relief trip with the Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children (FIMRC), a global non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children worldwide by providing medical care and health education. It would be an understatement for me to say it was an extraordinary experience! I've compiled a few pictures and videos on my Tumblr Blog about my past venture and I look forward to sharing my Peru experience (but with more detail) in the near future on there.

The opportunity in helping people has always been a continued desire of mine and an attribute I enjoy sharing with others. While I was in Nicaragua, I imagined for a moment how would the people living in this small community have managed if FIMRC and their volunteers were not available to them. But in turn, I imagined individuals, particularly wanting to go into the health industry, not having the experience of helping others on such a basic level. As much as I had set out on making a positive impact where I could, I came back being even more impacted.

As you may already know, I'd like to travel on another medical relief trip to Huancayo, Peru this summer with FIMRC. I plan on being in Peru for a month with the Summer International Health Fellowship Program (June 2015), which is a more medically immersed experience where I will have the opportunity to shadow hospital physicians, perform rotations alongside Peruvian medical students along with executing health campaigns, interacting with patients, and scrubbing in for surgeries.

In order to volunteer in Huancayo, Peru, I need to raise a donation of $3242 which will go directly to this cause and to FIMRC in order to maintain stocked pharmacy shelves, operating community health outreach programs as well as ensuring the clinic is operating successfully for the people it serves. FIMRC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Philadelphia, PA. As such, your donation in support of my volunteer experience will be fully tax deductible, and you will receive an e-mail of confirmation from the Foundation’s headquarters acknowledging your donation and containing a receipt for your records.

I hope that you will consider supporting me by contributing towards my fundraising goal! Not only will this allow me to participate in this wonderful experience, but it will also allow you to actively contribute to the work that FIMRC is doing to drastically improve the lives of underserved people around the world. Thank you in advance for any support you are able to provide. I am truly appreciative for any and all contributions!

If you can't make a donation at this point, please help me reach my goal by sharing this page. Also, feel free to contact me about any questions, concerns, or comments you might have.

Sincerely yours,

Natasha
